Denisha Bowman saw the fruit of her labors Wednesday when she signed to continue her education and playing career at West Virginia State University. "I had a friend on the staff and he was asking if I had any players that I feel could play there and I told him about my team; he came and watched them and locked in on Bowman immediately," Coach Key said. "Denisha went for a visit at Christmas and came back and said that was where she was going. She absolutely loved the staff, the campus and saw herself being successful there." Bowman came in as a shy, quiet walk-on in 2015, but quickly made her presence felt. "A 6'3 extremely versatile and gifted player, she had many Division I schools showing interest but she remained committed to WVSU, so that says a lot about her character and who she is as a person." Bowman finished her career at Vol State with a triple double in the first round of the conference tournament and left her name in the history books.
