Lady Pioneers Have Historic Season

Vol State's Lady Pioneer softball team's historic season was cut short as they finished the season as runner-up in the Region VII NJCAA Conference Tournament. Vol State fell to the Lady Tigers of Chattanooga State 3-1 in the Region VII Championship. The Lady Pioneers set many records along the way including tying for the most wins in program history with a record of 48-13 (0.787) and  going 26-4 in conference play.

The Lady Pioneers finished the season ranked #19 nationally including two of their very own receiving All-American Team Awards, A'miyah Collier (2nd team Infielder) and Lydia Kirby (3rd team catcher). Lydia Kirby, Troy University commit, became the second Volunteer State Community College player in school history to receive an All-American Team Award in both of her years at the college.

When asked about the departure of many graduating sophomores, this is what Coach Lynn had to say, "This was a special group we had, this was my first ever recruiting class as a Head Coach and they will hold a special place in my heart for believing and trusting in me and this program. They have set the standard for what it means to be a leader, and it will be hard to replace such a good group of young ladies."
